Thumbs Up to Relief

Many people go to a chiropractor because they are in pain. In this "first or initial" phase of care at Advanced Healthcare, Dr. Pisarek's main goal is to immediately reduce and relieve, as best as possible, your symptoms, restricted mobility and discomfort.

Most people are under the assumption that if they don't feel any pain, that there is nothing wrong with them - that they are healthy. Unfortunately, pain is a very poor indicator of health. In fact, pain and other symptoms frequently only appear after a disease or other condition has become advanced.

For example, consider a cavity in your tooth. Does it hurt when it first develops or only after it has become serious? How about heart disease? Regardless of whether you are talking about cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stress or problems with the spine, pain is usually the last thing to appear. When you begin chiropractic care, pain is also the first symptom to disappear, even though much of the underlying condition remains.

This is the initial and most intensive phase of chiropractic care. If you are in pain when you come into our office, after your consultation and assessment, the first objective is to help you feel better by starting to reduce nervous system stressors and pain. During this course of relief care, Dr. Pisarek works with your body by correcting vertebral subluxations (misalignments) in order to change patterns of tension that adversely affect your health and well-being. As stored tension patterns are dissipated, you many experience brief episodes of symptoms referred to as 'retracing or recovery' symptoms. As these patterns begin to change, your innate (inborn, natural) healing abilities become more expressed, and the healing process begins. Patients often report significant improvements in pain symptom reduction, range of motion, energy levels, sleep patterns and the ability to concentrate during this initial phase of care.

It is ideally typical to initially require chiropractic care sessions either on a daily basis or 2-3 times per week anywhere from 4-16 weeks. Periodic progress assessments along the way are scheduled for you in order to determine: your level of healing and recovery; whether the treatment frequency is to be modified; and, if any further care is required for this 'relief' phase...

Therefore, depending on your overall health and physical condition; previous injuries; your age; lifestyle and occupation; the nature, severity and how long you have had your current particular problem(s); and, the present diagnosis will require a therapeutic program of care for a specified period of time.
